One of the best private courses and facilities in all of Tampa Bay. Two par 71 courses, the East and the West. Our threesome played the East from the Blue tees. The course was in beautiful shape, especially given the fact that it was September and a lot of maitenance was taking place to get the courses ready for the busier 'winter' season.
The East is a more challenging side than the West, but you wouldn't know it from the first 6 holes. Both par 3's and 5's await you on the first 6, and their length is not daunting at all. You will want to score well before you reach 7, because the course grows very sharp teeth from the 7th thru the 18th. The 3rd hole is a beautiful par 3 over a creek. The 6th is a drivable par 4, but there are lots of ways to make bogey or worse. Holes 7 and 8 are dogleg right and left, respectively, and will challenge you off the tee. The 9th is a long, tough par 4 that gives you an idea of the challenge to come on the back.
The back 9 on the East has some beautiful-yet-brutal holes. Starting with 10 and 11, two long, dogleg par 4's that require strong tee shots. The 12th is a risk-reward par 5 with water carry on your 2nd and 3rd shots. The signature hole is 14, and what a view it provides. You drive off the tee towards the Gulf of Mexico and Sand Key. Your second shot is down the bluff towards the green, with an even better view of Clearwater Beach. Par on 14 is like making birdie. The finishing holes give a few more chances for birdie, but 18 will test your skills to make par just like the 14th does. Enjoy!
