The R1 has a very loud ping when slamming a drive. Not something I was used to when I first starting playing it. I immediately gained a good 15 yards from my old Titleist 979. I have a natural in to out swing so adjusting the weights to a fade setting helped me feel the swing and the head through the ball. If I miss hit just a bit, I still get nearly a full distance out of it.
