TaylorMade Tour Burner 8.5 Drivers - Tour Burner 8.5

"This is a good club the looks are nice and the face is pretty hot. The only down falls to this driver are the following. 1) The face angle is 1deg closed in non TP model (good for slices not hooks). I think it's stupid to pay an extra $200 on a driver to get a square or 1 deg open model in the same club. TM here is a marketing strategy... just make the face angle square and be done with it. See my blog on Driver Technology on drivers for more info on this topic. 2) 450cc head, why not make it 460cc might have gotten a bettor success rate, They were too busy working on the original R9 that turned out terrible. Just seems like TM spams the market with new drivers expecting everyone to buy into some kind of selling point they are advertising. From the numbers they doing a good job of it even though their drivers my not be the best on the market. See my blog on Driver Technology on drivers for more info on this topic. The prices I'm sure are cheap for these now but when they came out it was steep, TM comes out with a new driver every year it seems or more, so just wait one year after they come out with something and then buy the old model for $200 cheaper or less then the Original Suggested Retail Price (SRP)." - SpeedLine 9064LS 9.5

"This is the newest Adams driver on the market. An all black head and face makes this club look amazing! it comes with either the Aldila RIP Alpha or RIP Gamma two of Aldila's new line of shafts. It seems to play a lot like the voodoo, a very stout shaft the Alpha X flex tested to be about an XX flex so go one down on the shaft selection if you have a 100 to 110 swing speed. I personally like my Diamana White Board. The voodoo plays to much like a board for me and the RIP is a lot like the voodoo. This driver head is probably the hottest face in golf right now, it sits very neutral (face angle is not know exactly). More info on comparision to other drivers. I went and hit the 9032LS (the 9064LS was not out at the time), Cobra S2, Cobra ZL, TaylorMade R9 Supertri, Bridgestone's J38, and Ping's i15 all in 9.5deg with stiff flex stock shafts (exception was the Adams it had a Pro Lunch Red in it but still a stiff flex). All the lunch angles were too high for my liking but re-shafted with an x-flex and a WB it changes the lunch anyways. First place was the Adams 9032Ls, then Ping i15... i personally think that the crap about adjustable face angles is an over priced selling gimmick. if you set the club on the ground THEN take your grip the club will always be in the "N" position, if you grip it in the air then and only then will the "O", "C' positions take effect. You can do this with a none adjustable driver you just wont have the ability to line it up perfectly each time based on the grip. I do this all the time if i need to hit a cut with my driver I open it about 1deg and make the swing not that hard if you practice it!" (more)

cobra S9-1 Pro, Diamana White Board 73x Fairway Woods - S9-1 Pro (3 wood 15deg)

"The head is smaller which is not a problem for me in a fairway wood. It's not a game improvement club and is geared for the lower handicap. I rated the forgiveness a 7 for this reason. Accuracy is spot on assuming that you hit the club well, you can work this club very easily. Majority of the 3 woods on the market now are double or triple this head in size. The all black head gets a 10 it simply looks great, you don't see the yellow at address so i only rate the face and crown part of the club in appearance. I get great distance of this club because the head is so small it is hard to hit anything besides the sweet spot. I have a custom shaft in mine so I did not provide a price that i paid but you can probably find one on eBay for around $150 to $250." (more)

TaylorMade Rescue Dual TP Hybrids - Recue Dual TP (16 deg)

"This is an older model but it still is bettor then majority of the hybrids that I have hit. I use it as a gap between my 4iron and 3 wood, yardage comes out to between a 5 wood or 7 wood. This is a good club, i like the adjustable weights i play with two 8g weights in mine (stock is a 14g and a 2g draw bias unless otherwise specified), you can change the swing weight to more (> 16g) or less (< 16g) it by changing the weight set up. has draw or fade bias (draw 14g in heal, 2g in toe) (fade 2g in heal, 14g in the toe) you could also do any combination as long as you add it up to 16g total it will be a stock swing weight. (10g in heal, 6g in toe would be a minor draw bias). My only down fall to the TP model is the shaft, it has a diamana h shaft in it. I have a large swing speed on my driver low of 108, average of 112 to high of 116, so I figured the x-flex would work for me, it feels a little bit like a board when i swing smooth. Makes me think that i have to release the club hard to flex it and get the distance. I suggest if you have a swing speed of around 100 to 110 going with the stiff flex. If you plan to re-shaft the club anyways just get whatever loft you'd like and in whatever flex you can find the cheapest in." (more)
