This private club that I recently joined is without question the best kept secret in Portland.  We are in our rainy season and this course remains playable with only 1-2 wet spots on the entire 18.  Bear in mind wet in Portland this time of year means you have to pick up your ball and move it to a different location to hit it.  The fairways all have drains at their low spot which allows for fast run off and constant playability.  The course architect, Peter Jacobsen, didn't miss a single detail with this interesting geography.   The cascade mountains serve as a backdrop to almost every hole while the vineyards and sparse homes are remarkable.  The river that runs along the eastern boarder of the course further reinforces the unique nature of this well thought out golf course.  Though walking this course for the average golfer will serve as a challenge once you man up 3 or 4 times you forget about the otherwise tough terrain.  The facilities such as the large driving range, putting greens, chipping area, men's locker room that doubles as a spa, lovely dining room and rose garden set this apart from any other country club in the region.  I am blessed to be a member of such an exclusive and well laid out golf course that will challenge my friends and family for years to come.  You would be lucky to know a member at The Oregon Golf Club and have an opportunity to play this gorgeous course.
